Alaska Dressage Association
Joining ADA
ADA membership (Juniors and Seniors $35, additional family member $25) qualifies a person for all member benefits, including the ADA newsletter, voting for or being elected to the ADA board, and becoming a "Group" member of USDF (the national affiliate for dressage in the U.S.), which makes a person eligible to participate in USDF-recognized shows. The ADA membership form also allows the applicant to sign up for the ADA Year-End Awards Program for an additional $25 (look here for further details on awards).
ADA Horse Recording (lifetime $50, annual $10) makes a horse eligible for the ADA Horse of the Year award.
Check here for your ADA membership, award program status, and horse recording status as of Feb. 24.
ADA Members' Handbook
ADA publishes a membership Handbook to provide further details on the organization's operation, structure, award programs, and show management responsibilities.
ADA By-Laws
Here are the current By-Laws of the Alaska Dressage Association.
ADA's Non-Profit Status
Because ADA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (tax ID # 20-3829575, view IRS determination and signature), contributions to ADA are tax-deductible. Here is ADA's 2008 federal tax return (Form 990) and Schedule A. ADA is also a nonprofit corporation in good standing with the State of Alaska (view certificate and articles of incorporation here).
ADA's History
In the fall of 2005, ADA completed a questionnaire for USDF that documents the organization's history and accomplishments, as well as listing national awards earned by ADA members. This reference work is a great source of background information on ADA.
